Instead of assuming that everything went well and you have solved all your clients issues it is better to assume you haven’t. Often it is difficult for a down-line distributor to come to your repeatedly about the same problem. If they have asked for help and you provided guidance and they ran into further obstacles they may be hesitant to broach the subject again with you.

They may think that you can’t help them because the advice you provided didn’t work the first time. This is why it is a good idea for you to bring it up. Ask how it went. If it didn’t go according to plan then you can now work together to form a new strategy. In this way you form a collaborative relationship that really supports your mutual success.

You can think of following up as the last step of the process or the first.
