The internet is a magical tool. Seriously where else can you have interested prospects actually ask you for your products or services? Prospecting via the internet can do just that if done properly. Your three main goals are,

• Be of Service: Provide interested individuals the information they are looking for draws them to us.
• Qualify lead: Identify whether a mutually beneficial relationship would be had by doing business together.
• Deliver Message: Now that you have your prospects attention and they have been pre-qualified deliver your proposal.

With these goals you move from the hunter salesperson with a pitch to a subject-matter expert with a service. With this mind-set the pressure is off. You do not need to focus on getting the next sale. Your focus becomes how to provide the greatest service to your prospects.

Be of Service

This is easy! Simply provide the information people are looking for. This is what the internet is designed for. The single most important thing to have in your Network Marketing prospecting efforts is your own website devoted to providing high quality information to your target audience. Your website will serve as your primary prospecting tool.

When someone pulls up a major search engine and types a keyword relating to your business you want to be in front of that person with the answers they are looking for. There are two primary ways of doing this.

You can create an advertising campaign with an offer such as a free report and pay for each person to be directed to a lead capture page and then work to convert them through e-mail or you can create your own website that is so valuable to your potential client that the search engines direct them to you. Your website will actually attract and deliver prospects to you for free. Although this will take some time to build this is the best way to do your Network Marketing prospecting and create a long-term successful MLM business.

Deliver Message

With a solid understanding of your target market and your prospects perceptions your prospecting network marketing leads website can deliver your message from a place of understanding. This is not a sales pitch. Your message should 1) clear up any misconceptions your prospect may have by providing truthful accurate data 2) establish yourself has an honest and ethical individual and 3) demonstrate the value of your product or service. In essence you are establishing rapport with your prospect while educating them so they can make the best possible decision for them.

At this point you still do not know whether your prospect will benefit from your primary offer. Without being able to ask probing questions to identify this prospects needs it is difficult to offer an appropriate solution. So what does the average MLM’er do? They pitch their product! They pitch their MLM! They pitch themselves!

Seriously keep your eyes open for this. This is your competition. One pitch after another. The last thing you want to do is throw another pitch out there unless the person is interested in hearing it. It is difficult not to do. You have so much passion for your MLM and you see so much opportunity for yourself and others. It is easy to get excited and want to share.

But don’t… You are only looking for people who are going to succeed. Even if a pitch were to hook someone into a purchase if they are not prepared for what is required of them then they won’t succeed and either will you.

Your MLM prospect is actually the person looking to start their own business. This is not someone easily seduced by marketing anyway. Your prospect is someone willing to do the work necessary to succeed once they make the choice to get involved.

This is actually good news because the internet is the perfect vehicle to accomplish this goal. I think of my website as my staff. It asks the questions, provides the answers and works for me. When someone finally reaches me then I already know this is someone I want to work with. I get excited because this is an interested educated individual, who already knows what I have to offer, looking to succeed as an independent business owner. This is the goal of Network Marketing prospecting.

Utilize the “Menu Approach” to your website and you will be able to accomplish all three of these goals. If the thought of building your own website is scary then you are on the right path. If what you are doing isn’t working then do something else. If you have ever written a report then you can build a website. Each page is simply a mini report on a specific topic.
