MLM Recruiting: Building Rapport via the Internet

MLM recruiting is about building relationships and establishing rapport with your prospect via the internet. If you are skeptical that you can accomplish this via the internet just look at the success for the personal sites such as Match.com, True & E-Harmony. Millions of people are connecting online with internet communities like Myspace, Facebook & You-Tube.

Have you ever read a book and felt like you really connected with the author? You can accomplish the same thing through your website. Four key components to achieving this goal are as follows;
  • Quality Information: Be of service and provide high quality information to establish trust.
  • Tonality: Mirroring your target market to establish rapport.
  • Connecting: Present a genuine representation of who you are to establish a connection.
  • Representational Systems: Present your information for all thinking styles.
Quality Information:

MLM recruiting via the internet is about attracting individuals to you. What makes them a prospect? The fact that they were utilizing the search engines to look for information relating to your business. For example let’s say you are involved with an MLM that provides a high quality anti-aging line of products. So you decide to create a high quality website devoted to providing information on anti-aging.

Now the people who land on your site are searching for keywords on anti-aging and therefore are strong candidates for your product and possible candidates for the MLM opportunity. What does this have to do with rapport? Your prospect was looking for anti-aging information. By providing it you are building rapport by giving them what they asked for. Just provide a sales pitch and you break their trust not build it.

Tonality:

As discussed by truly understanding your prospects perceptions mlm prospecting can become a service, clear up misconceptions and present your argument from a position of authority. However you can take this one step further by doing this while mirroring your target market. By identifying who your target market is prior to writing your first word you can use the appropriate tonality in your presentation.

This also applies to the tonality of your entire website including color scheme, font choice, graphics etc…All of these components will come together as your brand. To illustrate, in our anti-aging example, the entire tone of the website might be designed with the baby-boomer in mind. This is a large target market interested in anti-aging.

A pink and purple color scheme filled with balloons and comic characters wouldn’t be ideal for this audience. People like to do business with people like themselves. By mirroring your target market in your MLM recruiting efforts you begin to establish rapport.

Connecting:

mlm recruiting, mlm success Balance mirroring your prospect in your MLM recruiting approach with presenting your genuine, unique self to your audience. You do this by expressing your open, honest thoughts from a genuine interest in your reader.

If your intention is to sell some random person on your MLM that will come across in your writing. However if your deep heartfelt intention is to be of service only to those who may benefit from it and therefore establish a mutually beneficial relationship your audience will know this as well.

As mentioned people like doing business with people like them but don’t be afraid to show your audience who you really are. You want to do business with people like you as well! I have found by being authentically me I actually attract people I enjoy working with. Remember…you are using your website to qualify your leads as well.

Representational Systems:

We each have a completely unique perspective based on the information we have obtained and the experiences we have had in our lives. This is often called our mental map of the world. Your MLM recruiting website actually helps individuals improve their mental map by providing insight.

It’s kind of like when your GPS updates its maps to better navigate. However another component you should be aware of is that each of us uses our faculties differently to process information. Assuming everyone learns like we do can be a mistake.

Visual Representational Systems:

A picture really is worth a thousand words to many. Those that process their world through the sense of sight are looking for images, video and dynamic content. To reach these individuals with your message you want to include these elements into your website presentation.

Auditory Representational Systems:

Utilizing internal dialogue as they read these individuals process much of the information they receive through sound. This is one purpose of the content you write into your website. It would be a mistake to focus on anyone thinking style and it may be tempting to decide you want to focus on visual only.

Please keep in mind that the internet search engines are analyzing your sites content to rank you and deliver prospects to you. They do this primarily through the written content of your site. At least for phase 1 of your strategy you should focus on writing.

Kinesthetic Representational Systems:

Another way many process the information in their environment is through the sense of feeling or emotion. Appealing to an individual’s logical faculties alone would not reach this person.

If you or your message does not “feel right” then you have lost them. This is one reason why being genuine is important. Your message should be congruent with who you are as well as have the best interest of your prospect in mind.

Establishing rapport via the internet is really not as complicated as it may seem. Focus on being of service to your prospect and communicate with your target market in mind as genuinely as you can. You will know if you are not being genuine if you find it is difficult to write. If your writing flows naturally it is coming from the heart.

Make sure you include words and graphics that will reach as many people as possible. Can you “see” yourself doing this? Does that “sound” right? Does it “make sense”? Can you “smell” what the Rock is cookin? Utilize these suggestions and your MLM recruiting efforts will not only be more successful but a lot more fun as well.
