Amway: Why I Chose Amway Global

I believe Amway Global, aka Quixtar, offers the highest potential to achieve MLM success and I will never switch. People see what I am doing online and approach me all the time with different opportunities but once you have been in the business a while it is easy to see right through them.

Here are my criteria for determining whether an opportunity has the potential to offer true MLM success.

Proven Track Record
Back in 1959 Amway literally invented the MLM business model. Since then they have grown to multi-billion dollar status with MLM being the one and only vehicle to achieve it. There is Amway and then there are the rest.

Whenever I hear the words “ground floor opportunity” all I hear is this is an untested company. Why join “the next big thing” when you can join a strong reputable established organization that is a massive force already?

Designed to Position Me for Success
A legitimate opportunity is one designed to benefit you as a distributor…not to force you to be a customer. When an opportunity requires its distributors to be its customers this raises serious red flags for me.

For one it encourages a ‘recruiting only’ mindset. One thinks, “all I need to do is sign up distributors.” Unfortunately IF you are able to do so your level of attrition will be through the roof. People will drop out of your team left and right.

Those who want to buy your products and those who want to join your opportunity are two entirely separate target markets.

Diverse Product Line
I am not a gambler…especially in business. If you like to put all your eggs in one basket I guess that’s okay. But I would much rather have a diverse portfolio. Single product MLM opportunities come and go like night and day in this industry.

You need to build an entire business around your opportunity. The last thing you want is to put a ton of time and effort into a fad product or opportunity that won’t be around.

Quality E-commerce Portals
Amway has the absolute best e-commerce websites. They aren’t one of those “slick marketing” sites that when you click on you instantly think “uht oh” and click the back button on. You are given multiple theme based sites with hundreds of products to market.

This is a critical point if you are planning to use internet marketing in your business plan. Once you get your warm prospect to your MLM portal you are not going to want it to lose the sale for you. It better instill confidence in your potential customer and convey a clean and professional image.

Dependability
You want your work to be over once you close the sale. To build a strong customer base that returns to you when they need to replenish their supply you need your MLM opportunity to deliver. The products better be high quality, the ordering process easy, the packaging and delivery to run smoothly etc…

Amway has been around for over 50 years and they have the logistics down. You don’t have to worry about them dropping the ball on you. Oh yeah… and you will get paid in a timely manner as well. I know…this should be a given but not all opportunities are created equal and I have heard plenty of stories of MLM’ers struggling to get paid.

Minimal Financial Investment Required
Your role as a distributor may have marketing costs associated to it. The amount of which will be entirely up to you determined by your business plan and marketing strategy. Marketing costs are acceptable. Your opportunity should not be one of them.

Yes, an initial sign-up fee to cover the cost of hosting your e-commerce site and such should be expected. However if you are required to “sell a certain amount” to remain “active” or remain on an automatic delivery schedule or any of the other ways less than reputable opportunities position it…stay away.

This is an indication that the “opportunity” is designed to make money off of YOU not off of your success. Amway has none of that. Once you are a distributor you are just that. You don’t have to spend another dime if you don’t chose to. It is set up for your success.

Products You Believe In
After all your primary objective is to retail products. Everyone knows to be good at sales you must really be a fan of the product. Now I don’t recommend joining an opportunity that requires you to be a customer (for obvious business reasons) BUT being a fan and customer of your products isn’t a bad idea either.

I know, I know…there are a lot of MLM’s out there with an impressive product or products associated to them but there are quite a few that don’t. I am assuming you’re not thinking about getting involved with an e-book MLM or anything so I will move on.

All in One Place
Many opportunities look good, real good in fact. But unless they meet every criterion above I would suggest you reconsider joining. Some of these points may seem small or insignificant but in reality each and every one is critical to achieving MLM success.

Sometimes its hard to step away objectively. You may get hooked on a product and really believe in it for example. And you may feel you know you can sell it so you overlook the fact that the opportunity only has that one product, or that you have to be a customer to be a distributor.

This is a recipe for failure.
